Have we lost the plot?

I thought AI was going to take away the “boring but necessary” jobs so we, humans, could focus on creativity over productivity. Life over labor.

But then I watch as “we” create art without artists, photos without photographers, movies without movie makers, and now pop stars without musicians. “We” are watching robots play soccer, snuggling with fake puppies, meeting dead celebrities, and putting ourselves in hot tubs with hot women (BTW – stop doing this 🤢 ).

Which just leads me to wonder – have we perhaps lost the plot? Forgotten the point? Been blinded by science?

Pictured – my new-to-me sewing machine, a Singer Sphinx built in 1905, which I recently purchased from a local thrift store and am determined to get going.

  1. Yes, sadly.
(Looking back, it was much “easier” back in 2009, when I started listening to Manic Mommies with a 2 year old and had yet to get a smartphone. Now that my daughter is in college and I’m connected in so many ways with a boss who suggests I use AI to write, I can’t tell you how much I miss those days.)
    Enjoy the “new” sewing machine!
