A week from today I will be heading to Sturbridge, Massachusetts to sign in for my 4th Pan-Mass Challenge. Over two days, I will join friends and teammates as I ride 187 miles, finishing in Provincetown. (A trip, by the way, that you couldn’t pay me to do by car!)
My training has been a lot different than in past years – lots of time in the saddle, but mostly in the woods – but after a few recent rides, I’m feeling pretty much ready. And, with the help of many of you, I have raised over $5,800 this year!
Now, I’m focused on packing my bags and reaching my fundraising goal of $8,500 – 100% of which will benefit the Perry S. Levy Fund for Gastrointestinal Cancer Research at Dana Farber. Cancers of the GI tract, including esophagus, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, stomach, small intestine, bowel, and anus represent almost 1/4 of all new cancer diagnosis this year and will be responsible for 1/3 of the cancer deaths this year.
But more personally, these are the types of cancer which have taken many in my circle of family and friends.
Every little bit helps
Any size donation will help as I push closer to my ultimate goal, and to the PMC’s 2019 goal of $60 million.
If you have someone you would like me to carry with me during my ride, please tell me their name and I will add to my list.
There are lots of ways you can contribute
- Direct Donation
- Donor-Advised Funds, Matching Gifts and more
- Plus – if you have a Maphre Insurance auto policy you can save 5% on any new or existing policy in Massachusetts by donating just $25 to a PMC rider
Every donation brings us closer by the mile.
