On a beautiful day this spring our son and I ran away from work and school for a few hours so I could contribute to stories in support of the Pan-Mass Challenge.
Having our son in attendance was not part of the plan. But as the school year wound to a end, he was feeling picked on, beaten down, and tired. Not only did he need a break, he needed some perspective.
Waiting for my interview, we listened to a pediatric nurse sharing her experience treating little patients with cancer, and introducing us to one of her adorable patients.
He also got to see me talking about why I PMC – not just about the names on the bracelet I wear during training, but also about the example I want to set for our children. Lessons about setting a goal, doing the work, making a difference, and counting our blessings.
And that is Why I PMC.
Help me raise $7,500, 100% of which will benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
And thank you to WBZ TV for making me look good!
